Client work

Clay Creations

Identity for a handmade pottery studio, presented as three directions so the client could choose the voice, not just approve a logo.

Role: Brand identity · Logo system, three presented directions · 2025

The mark

Clay Creations is one maker working by hand, so the identity had to feel personal rather than corporate. The wordmark pairs letterspaced caps with a high-contrast script for the maker's own name, with a single red accent doing all the emphasis.

Three directions

Rather than presenting one option and defending it, I built three complete directions and let the client pick the one that sounded like her. Direction one is type-only and restrained. Directions two and three introduce a line illustration of hands throwing a pot on the wheel, one arranged as a badge, one stacked.

Direction one, a typographic-only Clay Creations logo with letterspaced capitals and a script maker's name, no illustration

Direction two, the Clay Creations logo arranged as a badge around a line illustration of hands throwing a pot on a wheel

Direction three, the Clay Creations logo stacked beneath a line illustration of hands throwing a pot on a wheel
